Counselling

Some ways that counselling can help:

  • If you find yourself overwhelmed, unable to function and/or focus on everyday activities
  • If you need a safe space to talk.
  • If you notice that you are struggling to cope in relationships, at school, or at work
  • If you are more worried than usual or experiencing prolonged sadness, anger, anxiety, or hopelessness.
  • If you feel “stuck” and need some help to figure out how to move forward.

What should I expect when I come to counselling?

  • Sessions are 50 minutes long and take place either in person, via secure video conference, or on the phone.
  • During the first session we will discuss your counselling goals and priorities. It is also an opportunity to ask questions about the process.
  • Plan to arrive a bit early for your first session as typically there are forms to complete. If participating in video or phone therapy, the forms will be sent to you in advance of the first session.
  • You can expect a safe and welcoming space where you can talk about anything that you are concerned about.
